📢❄️🏫Reminder 📢❄️🏫
Friday, April 4, 2025, will be a regular school day to make up for the instructional time lost during the ice day on January 20, 2025. LVISD will utilize the first allocated inclement weather make-up day on the 2024-2025 calendar.
❗ It is crucial for all students to attend on this make-up day to ensure they do not miss important instructional time. The missed day in January impacted valuable classroom learning, and this make-up day provides the opportunity to stay on track with the curriculum and academic progress. Every day of instruction counts toward preparing students for their academic goals, so attendance on April 4th is essential.
🏫❄️📢 Let’s work together to keep learning on schedule!

Today, the high school GT students took a trip to visit SeaWorld San Antonio. Through the SeaWorld Careers Tour, students learned what it takes to run a Marine Life theme park and were allowed to speak directly with SeaWorld Animal and Hospitality experts. Trained guides led students in learning about the education and training required for some of the careers found at the park. Students also visited animal exhibits and went "behind the scenes" to discover how SeaWorld cares for its diverse collection of animals.

On Thursday, January 30th, the high school GT students, led by HS GT Coordinator, Lauren Lankford, sponsored the Reality Check program for incoming 8th-grade students. This program helps students understand the costs of federal income taxes, groceries, insurance, housing, etc. and teaches them how to live within their means and on a budget. Additionally, students from Mrs. Hunter's Law Enforcement practicum class helped to keep the peace and keep students organized. Hopefully, this will become an annual event and will be even bigger and better in the future. Thank you to all who participated!

t's National School Counseling Week!🎉 Let's give a big shout-out to all the amazing school counselors in La Vernia ISD who work tirelessly to support our students and make a positive impact on their lives. 🙌🏼 From helping with academic success to providing emotional support, our counselors are superheroes in disguise.
