The high school Gifted and Talented students had a fabulous day at Johnson Space Center in Houston on Thursday. The students learned a lot about space exploration and STEM concepts. An extra thanks to the amazing teacher and parent chaperones that came together to make the day possible!

The Acts of Kindness Club visited the Ronald McDonald House on March 26th to deliver the Easter Baskets they made to the families for Easter this weekend. Angel, who is the volunteer coordinator, greeted the group, provided a tour, and shared information about the program. He also answered questions from students about the Ronald McDonald House and how it operates. We are so proud of our kind-hearted students & their teachers for taking the time to reach out to others to bring a little joy and happiness to the world! Attention all art enthusiasts and tech-savvy individuals! 🎨📹 Are you ready to hear about the amazing accomplishments of our Graphic Design program? 🤩 Let me introduce you to the talented students of this program, led by the one and only Jenean Mills! 🌟
These 44 students have been perfecting their skills in Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications Career Cluster, and their hard work has paid off! 💪 This year, they decided to take on a new challenge and joined SkillsUSA, and boy oh boy, they did not disappoint! 🙌 In their first year, they blew the judges away with their creative t-shirt design and took home 1st place! 🏆 And guess what? Their design will now be used for the official t-shirt at the State SkillsUSA Contest! 🎉 Talk about making a mark in the industry!
But wait, there's more! These students are no strangers to the competition world, as they have been participating in BPA for two years now. 🏅 And their streak of success continues, as they have also made it to state in their BPA events! 🎉 We couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments!

The Kindness Club, sponsored by teacher Phyllis Kubena, is hard at work making blankets. The students include these blankets in Easter baskets, which they donate to the Ronald McDonald House in San Antonio. To sponsor a basket or help support the Kindness Club, please contact Ms. Kubena at pkubena@lvisd.org. The cost to sponsor a full basket is $40. The club's goal is to donate twenty baskets this year. Way to go, Kindness Club!
